A prominent law firm located in Austin, TX, is seeking a talented Associate Attorney with 1-3 years of post-qualification experience to join its Data Privacy and Cybersecurity Transactions practice. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-impact legal issues involving data regulation, digital security, and technology-driven transactions. The position involves advising on corporate deals, including mergers and acquisitions and public offerings, particularly in sectors such as artificial intelligence, fintech, and cloud-based platforms.

Duties:

• Provide legal guidance on data privacy and cybersecurity concerns in corporate transactions.

• Support due diligence, risk assessment, and regulatory compliance in mergers, acquisitions, and public offerings.

• Advise on data-related legal issues within commercial agreements and strategic partnerships.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including corporate, IP, and technology transaction groups.

• Monitor evolving privacy regulations and support clients in achieving compliance across multiple jurisdictions.

Requirements:

• 1-3 years of experience in a law firm or in-house legal department focusing on corporate transactions.

• Demonstrated knowledge of data privacy laws and cybersecurity regulations.

• Background in transactional work such as M&A, capital markets, or technology-related contracts.

• Familiarity with digital and data-driven business models.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited U.S. law school.

Certifications:

• CIPP or similar privacy certification preferred

Skills:

• Strong legal research, drafting, and analytical skills.

• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
