Job Overview:
A law firm based in Hartford, CT, is expanding its litigation team and is actively seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Associate Attorney. The role focuses on aviation, trucking, and general liability matters. This opportunity is ideal for a candidate with a strong foundation in complex litigation who thrives in a collaborative and fast-paced environment. Prior experience in aviation law is advantageous, but not required. Duties:

• Conduct early case evaluations and formulate strategic plans

• Draft legal correspondence, pleadings, and client advisories

• Manage discovery processes, including preparing and responding to discovery requests

• Represent clients in depositions, hearings, and mediations

• Deliver clear legal guidance to clients and identify potential risks and resolutions

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders

• Prepare settlement agreements and contribute to case resolution efforts

• Maintain timely, effective communication both verbally and in writing

Requirements:

• Active license to practice law in Connecticut

• Minimum 3-5 years of litigation experience (aviation or general liability preferred)

• Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage case load efficiently

• High degree of professionalism and client-service mindset

• Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize in a high-volume setting

• Comfort with technology-based tools and remote collaboration

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

• Admission to the Connecticut State Bar in good standing

Skills:

• Legal research and drafting proficiency

• Strong negotiation and advocacy skills

• Exceptional organizational and analytical capabilities

• Familiarity with litigation software and case management tools

• Effective interpersonal communication

• Initiative-driven with the ability to work independently and within a team
