Location

Duties

• Evaluate new case files and develop action plans, case budgets, and legal strategies

• Draft and respond to discovery and manage document production

• Attend and report on depositions, hearings, and related events

• Negotiate settlements, secure client authority, and prepare for trial

• Maintain frequent communication with paralegals and legal assistants

• Oversee pleading requirements and delegate tasks as appropriate

• Engage in client communication and case updates to ensure quality representation

Requirements

• 5–7 years of experience in workers' compensation defense

• Portable book of business required

• Licensed to practice in Virginia and the District of Columbia

• Maryland licensure is preferred

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and willingness to learn internal systems

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications

• Active Bar license in Virginia (required)

• Bar admission in DC (required)

• Bar admission in Maryland (preferred)
