Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Patent Agent in Raleigh, NC, to join their Electrical and Computer Science IP team. The candidate will have the opportunity to work with a diverse client base, both nationally and internationally. The role requires a minimum of 2 years of IP prosecution experience, with the ability to draft patent applications and admission to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

Duties

• Draft and prosecute patent applications.
• Collaborate with attorneys and clients on IP matters.
• Conduct patentability and freedom-to-operate analyses.
• Provide technical expertise in audio and image processing.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of patent prosecution experience.
• Admission to the USPTO.
• Experience in physics, math, optics, or photonics preferred.
• Experience with codecs, virtual/augmented reality, and AI is a plus.

Education

• Degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Computer Engineering, or Information Technology.

Certifications

• Admission to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
