A law firm seeks a mid-level project finance attorney with debt and tax equity experience to join their team in San Diego, CA, or any of their domestic offices. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in the energy industry, focusing on renewable energy projects.

Duties

• Represent clients in the development, acquisition, and financing of renewable energy projects.
• Draft and negotiate debt term sheets, loan agreements, and security documents.
• Draft and negotiate equity capital contribution agreements and partnership agreements.
• Manage junior associates and oversee transaction processes.
• Communicate directly with clients and third-party advisors.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience in the energy industry at a large law firm or comparable in-house counsel role.
• Excellent oral communication, writing, research, and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage projects and work effectively as part of a team.
• Strong academic credentials from a top-tier law school.
• Admitted to and in good standing with the state bar in which they reside.

Education

• Juris Doctor from a top-tier law school.

Certifications

• Member in good standing with the state bar.

Skills

• Strong familiarity with project finance work, particularly in debt and tax equity.
• Experience with drafting and negotiating various legal documents related to energy projects.
• Ability to take ownership of projects and manage transaction processes.
