Legal Assistant, GS 7
Responsibilities:
The candidate will receive, examine and review all original legal documents such as probates, patents, deeds, mortgages, leases and rights of way. Identify omissions or errors and notifies originator. Maintain automated system for all legal documents received for recording by scanning and entering data for the recorded documents. Conduct research in identification by utilizing the automated system. Coordinate appeal cases with agency. Compose correspondence relating to defective documents or appeals. Respond to requests related to probate data. Traveling is required.
