Job Overview:
A distinguished law firm based in Edina, MN, is seeking a driven and detail-oriented attorney to join its expanding estate planning division. This position involves managing a broad range of estate-related matters, including wealth preservation strategies, probate administration, and long-term legacy planning. The ideal candidate will bring a minimum of four years of specialized experience, strong interpersonal skills, and a proactive approach to client service and legal problem-solving.

Duties:

• Draft comprehensive estate planning instruments, including wills, trusts, and powers of attorney

• Develop and implement strategies for gift and estate tax minimization

• Represent clients in probate proceedings, including guardianship and conservatorship matters

• Administer trusts and estates, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and fiduciary duties

• Advise on charitable giving strategies and philanthropic planning

• Support closely held and family-owned business succession planning

• Collaborate with clients and financial advisors to create long-term wealth transfer solutions

• Monitor legal developments and apply relevant updates to client matters

Requirements:

• Minimum of 4 years of direct experience in estate planning and related legal matters

• Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships with professionalism and discretion

• Strong drafting, analytical, and legal research skills

• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities

• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management capabilities

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

• Licensed and in good standing to practice law in the state of Minnesota

Skills:

• In-depth understanding of estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer tax laws

• Proficiency in legal document drafting software and estate planning tools

• Client-focused mindset with an emphasis on discretion and confidentiality
