Family - Civil Paralegal
The candidate assists attorneys with complex family-based cases. Organizes and analyzes information and files. Maintains the Firm’s litigation calendar. Thoroughly research laws and judicial decisions about current as well as past cases. Maintains the integrity of the case or transactional documents generated throughout the duration of a case or transaction. Completes special projects on various issues as assigned. Coordinates the work of support departments, secretaries, and project assistants to retrieve, assemble and/or organize documents for review by supervisors. Prepares specified forms, letters, or other legal documents. Obtains documents and certificates from local or federal courts and state agencies. Conducts basic searches and creates reports in databases or other document repositories. Proofreads and prepares documents for submission to courts or agencies. Maintains the integrity of the case or transactional documents generated throughout the duration of a case or transaction. Completes special projects on various issues as assigned. Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies, a Certification as a trained paralegal with 2+ years experience, or equivalent on-the-job Legal Assistant/Paralegal experience in a law firm environment will be considered. Previous experience as a Paralegal with a Family Law firm is desired. Spanish skills are preferred.
