VP, Assistant General Counsel
The candidate will serve as the Corporate Law group’s lead attorney for the support of LSG’s projects, initiatives and product offerings. Integrate within the LSG team and become a trusted and reliable source of practical guidance and legal advice. Draft and negotiate disclosures, provisions and templates for a wide variety of LSG offerings. Establish and maintain an organized process and workflow for the review of new product offerings and/or modification to existing product offerings as well as for the drafting and negotiation of the related agreements. Develop positive, cross-departmental working relationships to maintain an open environment for collaboration, risk identification and escalation. Research and maintain knowledge of applicable federal and state laws and regulations relating to LSG’s products. Must have Bachelor's Degree, J.D., and be admitted to practice. Should have 6+ years of experience working for a large law firm or in-house, with a strong preference for experience in the financial services industry. An understanding of a variety of financial advisor affiliations and employment models is ideal. Should possess technology and customer licensing experience as well as be adept in risk and regulatory issues related thereto. Creative thinker with a strong work ethic comfortable working independently with minimal supervision and administrative support. Strong drafting, problem-solving and project management skills.
