Associate Attorney Immigration

A law firm seeks a dedicated and detail-oriented Associate Attorney to join its team, focusing on immigration and family law. Duties

• Conduct detailed reviews of consultation notes and develop comprehensive legal strategies.
• Perform thorough final case reviews for client petitions to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Prepare and draft legal documents, including briefs, motions, pleadings, and appeals.
• Represent clients in USCIS interviews and removal proceedings across various states.
• Provide high-level communication and collaboration with the legal team to address legal questions.
• Conduct client meetings (in-person or virtual) to address questions and provide case updates.
• Monitor changes in immigration laws, policies, and procedures; update clients and the firm accordingly.
• Develop and implement process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and outcomes.

Requirements

• Licensed to practice law in Texas and in good standing with the State Bar of Texas.
• 2–3 years of experience in immigration law preferred (including family-based petitions, removal defense, asylum, or naturalization cases). Open to new attorneys with a demonstrated passion for immigration law.
• Proficiency in legal research and writing, including motions, briefs, and petitions.
• Effective oral advocacy skills for court hearings and client interactions.
• Fluency in Spanish is strongly preferred due to the needs of the client base.
• Familiarity with immigration case management software (e.g., MyCase) is a plus.
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to empathize and build trust with clients.
• Willingness to travel for court hearings, USCIS interviews, and detention center visits as needed.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active Texas Bar License.
