Job Summary

This position is responsible for oversight and operations for 13 hub facilities in the southern (south of I-10) part of the Texas Region service area and will be expected to spend the majority of their time in this area. This role currently has eleven direct reports. This position is also responsible for preparing annual budget requests and managing the approved spend. Has in-depth experience, knowledge and skills in own discipline. Usually determines own work priorities.

Job Description

Core Responsibilities

Establishes performance goals and monitors progress through coaching, mentoring and career development.

Communicates and manages Company policies and procedures.

Ensures system and staff is able to respond to the demands of new technology deployment through demonstrative methods.

Works with other departments as necessary to maintain an in-depth technical knowledge of new technology being deployed.

Supports, trains and motivates employees.

Ensures that all headend compliance requirements including FCC technical standards are correct and up to date.

Assists in troubleshooting and repairing assigned systems in conjunction with subordinates and vendors to ensure timely and effective remedies.

Conducts quarterly hub inspections and ensures all deficiencies are addressed

Ensures adequate sparing is readily available

Ensures hub and headend test equipment and tools are operational and calibrated, as needed, including hub CPE (set-top boxes, routers/modems, etc.) for troubleshooting and validations

Ensures resources are organized to support plan of record execution, headend Critical Infrastructure Prevent Maintenance program, as well as daily BAU work (e.g., node optimization, new node builds, XPM)

Exercises judgment during incident management to drive resolution

Creates and maintains a culture that drives project success, as well as a positive employee experience

Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.

Works within manufacturer's rated weight capacity for all equipment, including but not limited to ladders and aerial lifts.

Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.

Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Highly Preferred Skills/Knowledge :

Experience with 24x7 hub/headend environment and inside plant architecture (including access, core/transport, video, and video on demand platforms), as well as critical infrastructure (including AC plant, DC plant, batteries, inverters/UPS, ATS, generators, HVAC)

Demonstrated proficiency in managing multiple projects, as well as capital and expense budgets

Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Education

Bachelor's Degree

While possessing the stated degree is preferred, Comcast also may consider applicants who hold some combination of coursework and experience, or who have extensive related professional experience.
