A reputable law firm based in Palo Alto, CA, is actively seeking a dedicated Family Law Associate Attorney to support its growing caseload. This role offers a remote work structure, provided the candidate resides in California to attend court proceedings and client meetings as needed. The position is designed for attorneys eager to gain direct client exposure, sharpen their litigation skills, and contribute meaningfully to families navigating complex legal matters. Duties:

• Manage family law matters including divorce, child custody, support modifications, and domestic partnership dissolutions

• Conduct client consultations, maintain ongoing communication, and guide clients through legal processes

• Draft pleadings, settlement agreements, declarations, and other case documents

• Represent clients in hearings, mediations, and depositions

• Handle court appearances and advocate effectively on behalf of clients

• Collaborate with team members and support staff to meet case deadlines and strategic goals

• Maintain accurate case documentation and adhere to internal quality standards

Requirements:

• Admission to the California State Bar and in good standing

• 0-3 years of relevant experience, ideally in family law; open to litigation attorneys interested in transitioning to this practice area

• Familiarity with court procedures and family law statutes within California

• Demonstrated organizational capabilities and the ability to handle a fast-paced workload

• Client-first attitude with strong interpersonal communication skills

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• An active California Bar license is required

Skills:

• Strong legal research and writing abilities

• Proficiency in litigation tasks, including discovery and motion practice

• Excellent time management and the ability to manage competing priorities

• Confident public speaking and courtroom presence

• Tech-savvy, with the ability to utilize modern case management systems and digital tools
