Best Buy Co. has an opening at its offices in Seattle, WA for the position of Senior Apps Readiness Engineer. Coordinate modification of existing software to correct errors, adapt it to new hardware, and upgrade interfaces and improve performance in accordance with all IT security and legal requirements. Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine and improve feasibility of design within efficiency and time constraints. Independently manage projects to develop automation for build components on MacOS and Linux servers. Develop end-to-end automation for Android, IOS, React Native, and Java products. Lead review of source code, identify build errors, and notify appropriate parties to expedite/facilitate synchronization to the latest build. Administer application development tools for IOS, Android, and Google Play. Work with Development, Infrastructure, and Testing teams to develop, build, package, and deploy process for new projects and test builds with DevOps principles. Full Requirements: Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology Management, Electrical Engineering, or another closely-related IT field, plus two (2) years of experience (1) implementing scripts using scripting languages (Perl, Python, and Groovy); (2) developing infrastructure as code using Ansible and Chef; (3) using software build tools (Gradle, Fastlane, and Maven) and continuous integration tools (Jenkins and Bitbucket); (4) working with CI/CD tools and DevOps automation with Configuration Management tools (Ruby and Shell Scripting); and (5) setting up, configuring, and administering binary repositories (HockeyApp, App Center, and Artifactory).
