Job Title: Settlements Attorney
Job Overview:
A Fort Worth, TX-based law firm is seeking a skilled attorney to manage personal injury claims before litigation. Duties:
Assess the validity and potential value of incoming personal injury claims
Collaborate with case managers to examine relevant documentation (medical records, accident reports, statements)
Conduct investigations by engaging with clients, witnesses, and experts
Maintain ongoing communication with clients to update and advise them throughout the pre-litigation process
Negotiate settlements with insurance representatives and opposing parties
Draft proposals, settlement documents, and other legal correspondence
Monitor case timelines and legal deadlines, including statutes of limitations
Coordinate with other attorneys and case managers to organize and maintain complete case records
Keep abreast of changes in personal injury law, insurance industry practices, and litigation trends
Requirements:
Minimum of 3 years of experience handling personal injury cases in a pre-litigation setting
Demonstrated success negotiating insurance settlements
Familiarity with high-volume personal injury practices
Proficient in client-facing communication, especially under sensitive or stressful circumstances
Organized and efficient in managing concurrent deadlines and case activities
Prior experience using FileVine is preferred
Education:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited institution
Certifications:
Active license in good standing with the State Bar
Skills:
Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills
Legal drafting and correspondence proficiency
Ability to evaluate liability, damages, and case strength
Empathetic and professional client interaction
Attention to detail and deadline management
