A law firm seeks an experienced Workers' Compensation Lateral Partner Attorney to join their team in Alexandria, VA. The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of experience in workers' compensation defense and a portable book of business. Candidates must be licensed to practice law in Virginia and DC, with Maryland licensure preferred.

Duties

• Assess new files to establish action plans, budgets, and recommendations.
• Identify pleading requirements and delegate tasks to paralegals as needed.
• Prepare discovery responses and manage document production.
• Attend depositions, hearings, and other discovery events, providing thorough reports.
• Negotiate settlements, secure authority, and prepare for trial as necessary.
• Maintain regular communication with paralegals and legal assistants.

Requirements

• 5-7 years of practice experience in workers' compensation defense.
• Licensed to practice law in Virginia and DC; Maryland preferred.
• Exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Education

• Juris Doctorate or equivalent.

Certifications

• Bar licensure in Virginia and DC; Maryland preferred.
