A law firm seeks an Intellectual Property Litigation Associate in Washington, DC. This role involves handling patent and other intellectual property litigation in federal court, covering all phases from pleadings to trial preparation.

Duties

• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and briefs.
• Manage discovery processes and collaborate with experts.
• Advise clients on patent clearance, validity, infringement, and enforcement.
• Engage in trial preparation and participate in court proceedings.

Requirements

• Minimum of two years of law firm experience in intellectual property litigation.
• Experience litigating in federal court is strongly preferred.
• Admission to the State Bar or ability to waive in immediately.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Registration to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) is desirable.

Skills

• Excellent written and oral advocacy skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
• Familiarity with patent prosecution and technical areas such as mechanical, electromechanical, software, and electrical inventions is preferred.
