Tax Associate

Profile

A law firm seeks a collaborative Tax Associate to join its practice in Southfield. This role is perfect for an attorney with a minimum of three years of experience in tax law, specifically focusing on partnership taxation, operating agreements, and mergers and acquisitions (M&A).

Duties

• Provide expert legal advice on tax matters, with an emphasis on partnership taxation and related structures.
• Assist in drafting and reviewing operating agreements and other related documents.
• Support clients through the M&A process, ensuring compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations.
• Conduct thorough legal research to address complex tax issues and develop strategies for clients.
• Collaborate with colleagues to deliver comprehensive tax solutions tailored to client needs.
• Maintain strong communication with clients, keeping them informed of developments and providing exceptional service.

Requirements

• Minimum of three years of experience practicing tax law.
• Strong background in partnership tax, operating agreements, and M&A transactions.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Proven ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in Michigan and in good standing.
