A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney with experience in Labor & Employment matters to join its San Rafael, California office. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years of relevant experience, maintain positive client relationships, and uphold confidentiality. This role requires a team-oriented individual who can provide practical and preventative legal advice to a diverse range of clients.

Duties

• Provide initial analysis and develop case strategy.
• Prepare and respond to discovery requests.
• Take and defend depositions, draft motions, and attend hearings.
• Explain legal options and potential outcomes to clients.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships.
• Negotiate, research, and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Licensed to practice law in California and in good standing.
• Strong critical thinking skills and solid academic background.
• Proactive, knowledgeable, and attentive to detail.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and public speaking skills.
• Self-motivated and goal-oriented with a history of meeting billable hours.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Outlook; experience with iManage and/or OneDrive is a plus.

Education

• Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in California.
