Lead Privacy Counsel

The candidate will lead a team of privacy lawyers to prioritize projects based on potential risks and opportunities and in close alignment with Cimpress’ business goals. Mentor and empower junior team members and manage workloads in conjunction with the privacy program manager. Partner closely with the technology, analytics, legal, and security teams on data protection initiatives while still empowering the team to deliver for our customers. Help establish and improve data protection governance processes and documentation and lead the development of global privacy standards for Cimpress business units. Advise executive leaders on privacy risks and mitigation strategies that align with technology constraints and business goals. Provide strategic support to privacy leaders across the Cimpress portfolio of businesses. Licensed attorney with 6+ years of data protection experience and some background with e-commerce companies, SaaS platforms or both. Strong expertise in privacy regulation and compliance strategies in North America and the European Union. Experience managing and mentoring other attorneys. The ability to explain complex legal issues and requirements clearly and concisely to a non-legal audience. Comfortable in a fluid, decentralized work environment with a focus on agile software development.
