Associate Attorney needed for Saratoga Springs office

Profile

A law firm in Saratoga Springs is seeking an Associate Attorney with a minimum of 3 years of experience representing creditors in foreclosures and/or title proceedings. The ideal candidate will be involved in pleadings and motions preparation, court appearances, legal research and writing, and general litigation. Leadership and management skills are strongly preferred, and creditor-side bankruptcy experience is a plus.

Duties:

• Prepare pleadings and motions for foreclosure and title proceedings.
• Attend court appearances for motions, conferences, and mediations.
• Conduct legal research and writing.
• Communicate in writing and orally with clients, outside counsel, and Court personnel.
• Engage in general litigation activities.

Requirements:

• Demonstrate expertise in New York foreclosure law.
• Utilize creditor-side bankruptcy experience if applicable.
• Display leadership and management skills.
• Admitted to practice in New York; additional admission in federal district courts or other states is a plus.
• Experience drafting pleadings, appearing in court, and researching legal issues.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• A portable book of business is a plus.

Experience:

3+ years of experience representing creditors in foreclosures and/or title proceedings.

Skills:

• Legal research and writing proficiency.
• Strong leadership and management skills.
• Experience in New York foreclosure law.
• Creditor-side bankruptcy experience (preferred).
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
