Complex Litigation Associate Attorney

Profile

A law firm in New York City is seeking a skilled Complex Litigation Associate Attorney with a strong background in research, writing, and advocacy. The ideal candidate will have experience in New York CPLR court appearances and possess a proactive approach to taking responsibility for cases.

Duties:

• Conduct legal research and analysis to support complex litigation cases.
• Draft and prepare legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
• Represent clients in court appearances, both in New York State and Federal courts.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys and participate in depositions (first or second chair).
• Handle insurance and reinsurance-related representations and engage in regulatory and insurance-centric transactional work.

Requirements:

• Demonstrate strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Assume responsibility for managing and overseeing assigned cases.
• Preferably possess Spanish language proficiency.
• Judicial clerkship experience is a plus.
• NY Bar admission is required.
• Minimum of 3 years of complex commercial litigation experience.

Education:

Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

NY Bar admission.

Skills:

• Strong research, writing, analytical, and advocacy skills.
• Familiarity with the New York CPLR.
