Job Overview:
A respected law firm is seeking a Senior Associate Attorney with strong experience in mortgage foreclosure, title, and general real estate litigation. Duties:
Manage a caseload of contested foreclosure, real estate litigation, and defensive litigation matters
Prosecute commercial foreclosure actions from initiation through resolution
Analyze loan files, title reports, and related documents to develop case strategies
Draft and file pleadings, motions, settlement agreements, and discovery documents
Represent clients at hearings, trials, settlement conferences, and appeals in state and federal court
Communicate with clients regarding case updates, strategies, and compliance with directives
Collaborate with support staff to ensure document preparation and timely filings
Conduct legal research and provide recommendations to partners for case resolutions
Prepare and maintain matter budgets and track billable time for client reporting
Requirements:
Minimum of 10 years of relevant litigation experience preferred (less considered for highly qualified candidates)
Substantial knowledge and hands-on experience in New York Mortgage Foreclosure Law and litigation practices
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment
Willingness to travel for court appearances, if necessary
Education:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
Certifications:
Active Bar license in good standing in New York (required)
Admission to practice in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, or Connecticut is a plus
Skills:
Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team setting
Proficiency in managing litigation from inception to trial
Excellent client communication and relationship management abilities
Professional demeanor and ability to maintain confidentiality
Organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail
Familiarity with electronic filing systems and client portals
