Telecommunications & Utility Regulatory Attorney

The candidate must have 1-5 years of experience in either the public or private sector with experience in any of the following areas: telecommunications/broadband law; energy law; utility regulatory law; public/local government law; technology contracting; and regulated industries. Experience with real property and/or contract law is preferred. Work with a small, close-knit team of attorneys, lobbyists, and professional staff. Be part of a sophisticated practice that advises private entities, public agencies and individuals on legal issues relating to energy and utility matters, telecommunications (both wired and wireless), broadband services, information technology and associated regulatory matters. Engage with clients on Smart City initiatives and public-private partnerships. Have opportunities for advancement in a collegial environment. Receive training opportunities with growing levels of responsibility. Collaborate with talented and team-oriented attorneys across practice groups and across offices. Be asked to work in the office as much as possible especially while training/learning, but ultimately be allowed to work remotely two days per week. Be licensed or become licensed to practice law in Ohio. Excel in a team environment. Be highly motivated and a self-starter. Be flexible and able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Demonstrate a keen interest in developing and implementing relationship-building skills both internally and externally. Have prior experiences that prepare them to work with attorneys, staff and clients from cultures and backgrounds different from their own. Have excellent written and oral communication skills. Have excellent law school credentials and references.
