Contract Attorney
The candidate drafts necessary contracts, forms, and other documents; reviews and negotiates suggested alterations and develops conclusions and recommendations. Reviews contracts and educate business personnel on their terms and import; recommend alterations to support the company’s business objectives and risk tolerance. Manages and prioritizes a high volume of deliverables by communicating effectively with business personnel. Provides a high level of expert advice on complex legal matters in the area of responsibility. Assists internal clients in addressing situations of high legal exposure or risk; understands overall business risk tolerance and considers it in the context of risk management strategies and actions. Actively identifies and logically assesses potential legal risks in ambiguous, unique, and/or complex business situations. Ability to make recommendations to effectively resolve problems or issues, by using judgment consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures, regulations, and law. Ability to align and embrace our five Core Values: Performance, Communication, Leadership, Quality, and Teamwork. Completes other projects as directed or assigned. Should have a Juris Doctor and be licensed to practice law in the State of Ohio. Should have 1-3 years of experience practicing law. Background in general business law and contracts. Experience in energy, public utilities, and/or real estate is preferred.
