Job Overview

A well-established law firm located in Colorado Springs, CO is currently seeking a Litigation Associate with experience in first-party property insurance disputes. This position offers an opportunity to build litigation expertise within a fast-paced, collegial setting. The ideal candidate will handle a range of legal responsibilities tied to property-related insurance claims and litigation. This role involves active participation in all phases of the litigation process, from initial pleadings through trial preparation and resolution.

Duties

• Conduct in-depth legal research to support strategic litigation efforts and case development

• Draft key legal documents, including complaints, motions (MTD, MSJ), and responses

• Manage and prepare discovery materials, including interrogatories and requests for production

• Participate in negotiations and alternative dispute resolution processes

• Represent clients at hearings and assist with trial preparation

• Prepare for and conduct depositions of clients, witnesses, and experts

• Maintain professional and timely communication with clients throughout the litigation lifecycle

Requirements

• Admission to practice law in the state of Colorado (active and in good standing)

• Prior experience handling first-party property insurance or related civil litigation

• Federal court experience strongly preferred

• Excellent research, analytical, and writing skills

• Ability to manage multiple cases independently and efficiently

• Professional demeanor and strong interpersonal communication abilities

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications

• Active Colorado Bar License (required)
