Tax Senior - Indirect - Severance

The candidate will be analyzing an evolving portfolio of complex tax operations to provide meaningful business insights. Identifying potential opportunities and risks and communicating these to clients. Learning and researching current market trends, to maintain credibility as a trusted advisor. Developing clear, intelligent plans and approaches to improve clients' tax activities. Researching our clients' business operations and building long-lasting relationships to tailor your advice to their specific needs. Supervising a motivated team of professionals, guaranteeing they have the skills, knowledge and opportunities to reach their full potential. Should have a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related discipline. An achieved or partially achieved CPA qualification, COPAS or other oil and gas tax related certification, or the ability to sit for a state Bar. Professional knowledge in severance tax processes, concepts and tools are needed. Experience filing state severance tax returns and prior period adjustments as well as incentive applications and paperwork is needed. Good understanding of oil and gas field operations are required. Good understanding of oil and gas revenue process is needed. Should have proven record of excellence in a professional services or tax organization. Technical writing and research experience in a tax context is needed. Should have the ability to prioritize when working on multiple complex projects. Strong influencing skills, and the confidence to question existing processes are needed.
