Duties:

• Represent public entities in criminal prosecution and related civil matters

• Manage a varied caseload including misdemeanor and ordinance violations

• Draft legal documents, motions, and other pleadings

• Conduct legal research and offer counsel on compliance and statutory interpretation

• Appear in court for trials, hearings, and other legal proceedings

• Engage in negotiations, plea deals, and pre-trial conferences

• Collaborate with local government officials, law enforcement, and administrative personnel

• Maintain accurate and thorough case documentation

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in criminal prosecution and/or municipal law

• Active license to practice law in the State of Minnesota

• Demonstrated ability to manage litigation files from inception to resolution

• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities

• Proven analytical and problem-solving capabilities

• Ability to work independently and prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Member in good standing with the Minnesota State Bar

Skills:

• Litigation strategy and courtroom advocacy

• Legal research and writing

• Knowledge of municipal law and prosecutorial procedure

• Public sector communication and negotiation

• Case management and legal compliance

• Proficiency with legal software and documentation systems
