Junior or Mid-level Consumer Products Litigation and Regulatory Associate Attorney

Profile

A law firm in Los Angeles is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Junior or Mid-level Consumer Products Litigation and Regulatory Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of legal experience and possess excellent academic credentials. The role involves working on regulatory matters before the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Federal Trade Commission (FTC), and National Advertising Division (NAD), as well as consumer class action litigation. The candidate will collaborate with clients and partners throughout the firm and play a key role in providing exceptional legal services.

Duties:

• Focus primarily on regulatory matters involving the CPSC, FTC, and NAD.
• Work on consumer class action litigation matters.
• Affirmative regulatory reporting and responding to regulatory investigations.
• Counsel clients on compliance with consumer product safety statutes, regulations, and standards.
• Review advertising claims substantiation.
• Draft and prepare briefs, pleadings, motions, and other legal documents for consumer class action work.
• Conduct legal research and write memoranda on various legal issues.
• Work on all aspects of disputes from inception through trial.
• Support the team on business development and other litigation and regulatory-related matters as needed.

Requirements:

• 2-5 years of legal experience.
• Excellent academic credentials.
• Prior law firm experience is strongly preferred.
• Regulatory expertise involving the CPSC and FTC is ideal; however, a keen interest in learning to work on matters before these regulatory agencies is required.
• Experience with multi-jurisdictional litigation and class actions is strongly preferred.
• Strong litigation skills, such as serving as the case management lead, taking depositions, or demonstrating of superb oratory skills, are required; significant deposition and court experience is preferred.
• Must be licensed to practice law in the State of California and be in good standing.

Education:

Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:
