Job Overview:
A prominent Northeast-based law firm is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join its Business Litigation team. This position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of complex commercial litigation matters, representing a diverse client base including corporations, governmental agencies, and nonprofit entities. The role is suited for a highly motivated litigator who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and is committed to providing top-tier legal representation.

Location:

• Stamford, CT

Duties:

• Represent clients in court hearings, mediations, and arbitration proceedings

• Take and defend depositions

• Conduct legal and factual research and collaborate with senior attorneys on case strategies

• Draft memoranda, pleadings, discovery requests/responses, motions, and legal briefs

• Analyze records and transactions involved in business disputes and identify potential claims

• Handle matters across various commercial litigation practice areas

• Work cross-functionally with attorneys in other departments to deliver integrated legal solutions

• Maintain an annual billable hour requirement of 1,800 hours

Requirements:

• 4–7 years of experience in litigation

• Background in complex commercial litigation and/or bankruptcy preferred

• Familiarity with Connecticut State and Federal court procedures

• Previous federal or state judicial clerkship experience preferred

• Proven ability to manage a varied caseload independently

• Strong organizational and time management skills

• Demonstrated commitment to high performance and accountability

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active license to practice law in the State of Connecticut (required)

• Admission to the New York and/or Massachusetts bar (preferred)

Skills:

• Exceptional legal writing and research capabilities

• Strong oral communication and courtroom presentation skills

• Ability to adapt quickly to new information and legal issues

• Professional demeanor and team-oriented approach

• High level of attention to detail and accuracy

• Ability to work effectively with colleagues across different practice groups

• Military experience is valued and encouraged
