Education Supervising Attorney

The candidate will act as the primary supervisor for 2-3 education staff attorneys and is responsible for ensuring that their supervises provide high quality representation to their clients and that those supervises develop their legal abilities. Supervision tasks include being regularly available to supervises, reviewing written work, actively participating in meeting preparation, and offering consistent feedback on performance. Play a critical role in monitoring education staff attorney compliance with project-wide policies and analyzing the work being done throughout the project. DC Bar membership or eligibility to waive into the DC Bar is required. Should have 2 years-experience with special education law. Maryland Bar membership is a plus. Supervising experience a plus. Knowledge of DC education system is a plus. Knowledge of child welfare practice is a plus. Excellent interpersonal skills (teaming, building rapport, gathering information) are needed. Spanish-speaking proficiency is a plus.
