Job Overview
A law firm seeks a talented associate to join its Mergers and Acquisitions and Energy Transactional Group in Houston. The successful candidate will work on complex transactions across various industries, with a focus on the energy sector.

Duties

• Assist in structuring, financing, negotiating, and executing mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures.
• Draft and negotiate transaction documents, including purchase agreements and ancillary closing documents.
• Advise legal and business teams from deal inception through closing.
• Support energy-related transactions, including acquisitions and dispositions of power assets.
• Conduct due diligence and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience in corporate transactions, preferably in a national law firm.
• Excellent writing and drafting skills with experience in transaction documents.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Experience in the energy industry is beneficial but not required.
• Admission to the relevant state bar or eligibility for admission.
• Willingness to work with innovative technology platforms.

Education

• J.D. from an accredited law school with a strong academic record.

Certifications

• Admission to the relevant state bar.

Skills

• Strong drafting and negotiation skills.
• Ability to interact with and advise legal and business teams.
• Proficiency in using technology platforms for legal work.
