Manning Kass has an exciting opportunity for an ambitious civil litigation attorney to join our Real Estate and Professional Liability Teams. This position is a Partial Hybrid opportunity with 1-2 days per week in the office.

The Manning Kass Real Estate Litigation Team aggressively defends and represents the full spectrum of real estate professionals—including appraisers, brokers, loan brokers, contractors, developers, escrow companies, home inspectors, and title companies—in litigation and transactions.

The Professional Liability Team at Manning Kass has developed specialized expertise in defending malpractice claims against professionals, including:

• Real estate brokers and agents
• Accountants and other financial services professionals;
• Appraisers
• Construction managers and inspectors
• Design professionals
• Escrows
• Fitness trainers
• Home inspectors
• Insurance agents and brokers

Our ideal candidate will bring prior case handling and deposition experience and at least two years of litigation experience to support our firm and our clients in the Los Angeles area.

Responsibilities

• Case handling, including analyzing, assessing, and executing litigation strategies through all stages of litigation.
• Proactive client communications, including providing liability and damages analyses
• Represent clients at litigation proceedings, including hearings, motions, depositions, and mediations.
• Opportunity to try cases, including learning from the firm's ABOTA trial attorneys

Requirements

• J.D. from an accredited law school
• Current good standing with the California State Bar (please DO NOT apply if you do not have a California bar license)
• 2+ years of civil/general litigation experience. Trial experience is a plus!
• 1+ years experience with real estate claims and the discovery process
• Demonstrable experience researching, analyzing, deposing, and handling cases
• Detail-oriented with excellent writing, communication, and case analysis abilities
• Embodies Manning Kass’ core values of leadership, hard work, and integrity
• Proficient with the latest trends and best practices in litigation
• Team player but also a self-starter who has experience handling caseload independently

• Salary Range $110,000-$160,000 + bonus. Salary is commensurate with experience and education.
