A respected civil litigation defense firm in Los Angeles is seeking a Senior Litigation Attorney for a non-equity Partner position. This full-time leadership role involves supervising associate attorneys, managing civil defense cases from inception to resolution, and working directly with clients and insurance carriers. The ideal candidate will bring 5–10 years of litigation experience and demonstrate strong leadership, communication, and legal strategy skills.

Duties

• Oversee civil litigation defense cases in collaboration with associate attorneys

• Conduct senior-level evaluations of claims and develop defense strategies

• Lead strategy sessions with clients and insurance adjusters

• Supervise all phases of discovery, from drafting responses to managing document reviews

• Prepare and argue motions including demurrers, motions to strike, and summary judgments

• Prepare clients and witnesses for depositions and trial

• Draft and file pleadings, discovery responses, and court documents

• Coordinate with legal staff to manage case files and timelines

• Maintain accurate billing and timekeeping records for client reporting

Requirements

• 5–10 years of civil litigation experience, preferably in a defense context

• Proven experience supervising cases and mentoring junior attorneys

• Strong legal writing, research, and analytical skills

• Ability to independently manage cases from pre-litigation through trial

• Experience with depositions, written discovery, motion practice, and reporting to insurance carriers

• Familiarity with California civil procedure and litigation timelines

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications

• Active license to practice law in the State of California

• In good standing with the California Bar
