Instructor, Business Management (part-time)

The candidate will under the supervision of the Associate Dean, Business, to develop and teach Business strategies for a variety of Business Management courses. This position requires that the incumbent teach courses at multiple MATC campuses during the day, weekend, and/or evenings Related duties include participation in department meetings, department functions, curriculum development in both traditional and non-traditional formats, course development for internet courses, staff development, conduct open labs, student advising, recruitment and retention of students, and other duties as assigned. Prepare for and deliver instruction and perform teaching-related activities. Manage the classroom/laboratory. Develop curriculum and monitor and revise as appropriate to maintain course effectiveness; assist in program evaluation. Manage equipment, supplies and materials. Assess student performance and advise students on academic issues. Collaborate with advisory committee in program area. Attend departmental and institutional meetings. Promote the education/training program, participate in efforts to recruit and retain students, and participate in efforts to market MATC. Support student organizations and activities. Develop relationships with business and industry. Complete program evaluation and follow-up. Maintain certification, continue professional development and stay current in field. Professional self-starter with team motivated abilities. Perform other duties as assigned. Must have one of the following: Ph.D. in Business, Doctor of Business Administration (D.B.A.), Juris Doctorate (J.D.), Master's Degree in Business Administration (M.B.A.). Master's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field such as Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, or Public Administration. Must have 5+ years full-time or equivalent (10,000 hours) of work experience with responsibility in planning, organizing, directing and/or evaluating business functions acquired through management experience in a formally organized business. In addition one of the following must be met: At least three of the five years must have occurred within the last 5 years or. Two years of teaching Business Management course work at the post-secondary level within the last 5 years. Previous teaching experience desirable. Practical experience in real world, hands-on applications for teaching statistics, finance e-Commerce and international strategies courses preferred. Working knowledge of computers and software related Business Administration occupations, including but not limited to, Minitab, MS Office, Quickbooks, etc. preferred. Must have the ability to work effectively within an individualized instructional setting. Knowledge or experience with engaged and service learning strongly preferred. Must have knowledge of assessment of student academic achievement techniques. Must meet State of Wisconsin Technical College System (WTCS) instruction Certification Requirements. Must meet Higher Learning Commission (HLC) standards (if applicable).
