Mid-level Cyber/Data/Privacy Attorney

A law firm in Chicago is seeking a Mid-level Cyber/Data/Privacy Attorney with 4-6 years of experience, focusing on regulatory investigations or litigation involving consumer protection issues and/or defending data privacy and security class actions. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in litigation and regulatory enforcement investigations related to privacy and data security matters. They should possess a high level of academic achievement, the ability to engage directly with clients and lead significant projects, general tech fluency, and impeccable analytical and writing skills.

Duties:

• Focus on litigation and/or regulatory enforcement investigations related to privacy and data security matters.
• Engage directly with clients and lead significant projects.
• Defend data privacy and security class actions, including claims under the Stored Communications Act, wiretapping claims, and claims involving allegedly unfair and deceptive trade practices.
• Handle regulatory investigations involving consumer protection issues by State AG, FTC, and other regulatory agencies.

Requirements:

• 4-6 years of experience in regulatory investigations or litigation involving consumer protection issues and/or defending data privacy and security class actions.
• High level of academic achievement from a nationally recognized law school.
• General tech fluency and the ability to analyze complex legal issues.
• Impeccable analytical and writing skills.

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) from a nationally recognized law school.

Certifications:

Relevant certifications in data privacy and security would be beneficial.

Skills:

• Strong litigation and regulatory enforcement experience.
• Familiarity with data privacy laws and regulations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lead significant projects and engage directly with clients.
