Job Overview:
A highly respected national law firm is seeking a Transportation Litigation Associate Attorney to join its San Francisco office. This opportunity focuses on defending complex transportation-related litigation for a large international logistics services provider. The ideal candidate will have significant litigation experience and a strong understanding of transportation laws and regulations. A flexible hybrid work arrangement is available.

Location:

• San Francisco, California

Duties:

• Proactively manage a litigation caseload under the supervision and guidance of senior attorneys

• Conduct legal research and analysis related to transportation laws, regulations, and emerging legal issues

• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, legal memoranda, and other legal documents

• Attend court hearings, depositions, and mediations

• Negotiate settlements and agreements, demonstrating strong advocacy and negotiation skills

• Collaborate with colleagues across departments and offices to support a cohesive team environment

• Prepare case analysis reports for client stakeholders, focusing on proactive resolution strategies

Requirements:

• 3–5 years of general casualty litigation experience

• Experience in transportation, logistics, trucking, and regulatory issues preferred

• Familiarity with emerging e-commerce and gig economy legal issues preferred, but not required

• Deposition and motion practice experience required

• Trial experience preferred

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

• Admission to practice law in the State of California

Skills:

• Superior analytical and critical thinking abilities

• Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills

• Sophisticated technical proficiency with litigation tools and platforms

• Effective negotiation and settlement skills
