Job Overview:
A highly respected national law firm is seeking a Transportation Litigation Associate Attorney to join its San Francisco office. This opportunity focuses on defending complex transportation-related litigation for a large international logistics services provider. The ideal candidate will have significant litigation experience and a strong understanding of transportation laws and regulations. A flexible hybrid work arrangement is available.
Location:
San Francisco, California
Duties:
Proactively manage a litigation caseload under the supervision and guidance of senior attorneys
Conduct legal research and analysis related to transportation laws, regulations, and emerging legal issues
Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, legal memoranda, and other legal documents
Attend court hearings, depositions, and mediations
Negotiate settlements and agreements, demonstrating strong advocacy and negotiation skills
Collaborate with colleagues across departments and offices to support a cohesive team environment
Prepare case analysis reports for client stakeholders, focusing on proactive resolution strategies
Requirements:
3–5 years of general casualty litigation experience
Experience in transportation, logistics, trucking, and regulatory issues preferred
Familiarity with emerging e-commerce and gig economy legal issues preferred, but not required
Deposition and motion practice experience required
Trial experience preferred
Education:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school
Certifications:
Admission to practice law in the State of California
Skills:
Superior analytical and critical thinking abilities
Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
Sophisticated technical proficiency with litigation tools and platforms
Effective negotiation and settlement skills
Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team
