Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney to join its Elder Law and Trusts & Estates Practice Group in Greenwich, CT. This position is ideal for a mid- to senior-level attorney with experience in estate planning and administration, who will work on sophisticated estate settlements and complex planning matters.

Duties

  • Draft, review, and implement comprehensive estate plans, including wills and trusts.
  • Support estate and trust administration, including preparing accountings and tax returns.
  • Assist with probate and estate-related litigation matters as needed.
  • Research and advise on tax impacts and asset preservation strategies.
  • Participate in client negotiations and court proceedings with senior attorneys.
  • Maintain accurate case records and meet billable hour targets.
  • Contribute to practice group initiatives and foster a collaborative culture.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school; LLM preferred.
  • Admitted to the Connecticut and New York State Bars and in good standing.
  • 5+ years of relevant legal experience in trusts & estates and estate planning.
  • Familiarity with federal and state tax laws and trust administration procedures.
  • Strong analytical, drafting, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills with a client-focused approach.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Probate litigation experience is a plus.
  • Flexibility to work from the Greenwich, CT office, with occasional travel to Roseland, NJ.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school; LLM preferred.

Certifications

  • Admitted to the Connecticut and New York State Bars and in good standing.
