The successful candidate will provide general counsel services to local governmental bodies, including municipalities, school districts, library districts, and park districts. This role offers some hybrid work flexibility.

Duties

• Counsel clients on contract review and employment matters.
• Handle ordinance prosecutions and enforcement actions.
• Respond to board member inquiries and governance questions.
• Provide legal guidance on purchasing and procurement processes.
• Assist with real estate and property-related issues.
• Support clients with various day-to-day operational legal needs.

Requirements

• Active Illinois bar license required.
• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
• Excellent legal writing, research, and communication skills.
• Experience in municipal or public sector law is highly desirable.
• Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines effectively.
• Experience in corporate formation or estate planning is a valuable plus.

Education

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active Illinois bar license.
