Profile

A law firm seeks a Litigation Attorney to join its team in the Overland Park, Kansas office. This role focuses on a range of litigation matters related to creditors’ rights, automobile replevin, seizure cases, forfeiture, and bankruptcy. The attorney will manage various case responsibilities, offering opportunities to develop litigation skills and collaborate within a supportive team.

Duties

• Handle litigation matters involving automobile replevins, seizures, impounds, and related areas.
• Conduct legal work on creditors’ rights, including managing creditors’ bankruptcy cases.
• Draft and file pleadings, motions, and other necessary court documents.
• Conduct in-depth legal research to support case strategy and motions.
• Communicate with clients to provide case updates, discuss legal strategy, and address inquiries.
• Manage caseload with accuracy and efficiency, meeting required deadlines.

Requirements

• Active licensure to practice law in Kansas and Missouri (or willingness to secure both licenses).
• Preferably 1-3 years of experience in litigation; recent law graduates will be considered.
• Strong oral and written communication skills, with an emphasis on clear and concise advocacy.
• Excellent research and analytical abilities to support complex legal cases.
• Ability to handle high volumes of work with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Proven ability to respond effectively in situations with tight timelines.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Kansas and Missouri State Bar Licenses (or willingness to obtain).
