Associate Attorney needed for San Diego office

Profile

A law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney for their San Diego, CA location. The Associate Attorney will be responsible for developing relationships with clients, providing legal advice, representing clients in court and mediation, and managing a caseload of civil or commercial litigation matters. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical, research, and communication skills, along with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple cases effectively.

Duties:

• Develop relationships with clients and establish legal objectives.
• Explain legal options and provide legal advice to clients.
• Represent clients in court and mediation proceedings.
• Manage caseload and prioritize multiple cases and assignments.
• Prepare pleadings, manage all aspects of discovery, research, prepare motions, and handle all aspects of trial preparation and trial work as second chair.
• Conduct legal research and analysis on various issues.
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys on case strategy and development.
• Ensure compliance with legal deadlines and requirements.

Requirements:

• Admission to and in good standing with the California Bar.
• 2+ years of civil or commercial litigation experience.
• Strong analytical, research, oral, and written communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage and reprioritize caseload.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

Admission to and in good standing with the California Bar.
