Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Health Law Associate for its Washington, DC office. The role involves supporting a team advising national and regional health plans, focusing on contracting relationships with pharmacy benefit managers and other vendors. The associate will also engage in health care transactions, including M&A activities.

Duties

• Draft and negotiate service agreements, PBM contracts, and M&A agreements.
• Identify key legal and business issues in contracts.
• Conduct research on payor regulations and PBM practices.
• Summarize regulatory guidance from CMS and state agencies.
• Assist with due diligence reviews and transaction document preparation.
• Manage contract workflows and coordinate with clients and counsel.

Requirements

• Experience in transactional matters in the health care industry preferred.
• Familiarity with federal and state regulations governing health care providers.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to balance and prioritize multiple responsibilities.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to collaborate effectively in team settings.

Education

• JD or LLM from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admitted or eligible for admission in the District of Columbia or New York.

Skills

• Strong contract drafting and M&A experience.
• Professionalism in engaging with demanding clients.
