Job Overview

A law firm seeks an attorney with 2-6 years of experience to join its Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation practice in Houston, TX. Exceptional candidates in other markets may also be considered. This role involves supporting client teams on the design and administration of tax-qualified retirement plans, health and welfare plans, and incentive and other compensation programs.

Duties

• Draft plan documents and assist with corrections.
• Negotiate vendor agreements.
• Support transactional work, including due diligence and disclosure schedules.
• Prepare and review materials for fiduciary committee meetings.
• Analyze client questions, conduct research, and draft responses.

Requirements

• 2-6 years of relevant experience.
• Licensed and in good standing in the state of practice.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to review, analyze, and apply detailed regulations.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• State Bar admission.

Skills

• Strong analytical and research skills.
• Proficiency in drafting and negotiating legal documents.
• Ability to collaborate across teams and interface with clients.
