Job Overview:
A respected law firm in the Greater Houston, TX area is seeking a detail-oriented Immigration Attorney with experience in consular processing and waivers. This role presents an excellent opportunity for an immigration attorney to gain hands-on experience and grow within a thriving legal team. The attorney will manage a specific caseload related to family-based immigration, waivers, and consular processes, while working closely with a team of paralegals and senior attorneys.

Location:

  • Houston, Texas

Duties:

  • Manage a caseload involving CP/Waiver cases including I-130, I-601A, I-212, I-601, consular processing, and K-Visa applications

  • Prepare clients for consulate interviews and guide them through the entire process

  • Represent clients before USCIS on related immigration matters

  • Review and finalize immigration application packets prepared by support staff

  • Supervise a team of paralegals to ensure productivity targets and client expectations are met

  • Provide legal analysis to clients to identify case strategies and potential benefits

  • Draft and submit legal briefs for a range of immigration-related cases

  • Collaborate with legal team members to develop case strategies and ensure high-quality representation

Requirements:

  • 1 to 4 years of experience practicing immigration law

  • Strong understanding of waiver and consular processing cases

  • Ability to effectively manage a high-volume caseload

  • Leadership skills with the ability to manage and support a team of paralegals

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (preferred, not required)

  • Team-oriented mindset with a commitment to collaboration and case success

  • Familiarity with legal technology and case management software (preferred)

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active Bar admission in any U.S. jurisdiction

Skills:

  • Expertise in family-based immigration petitions, waivers, and consular processing

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Analytical thinker with strong legal research and drafting skills

  • Strong organizational abilities with attention to detail

  • Client-focused with strong interpersonal skills
