Job Overview: A prominent law firm is seeking a highly skilled Patent Litigation Associate with 3+ years of experience to join its team in San Diego or San Francisco. The ideal candidate will have experience handling patent litigation matters in district court and/or before the International Trade Commission (ITC). A background in electrical engineering, computer science, or a related technical field is preferred. The role offers the opportunity to work on high-profile patent cases while collaborating with a dynamic team to deliver results for clients.

Location:

• San Diego, CA

Duties:

• Prepare and try patent matters, including Markman hearings
• Conduct technical analysis of products and patents
• Manage discovery preparation and implementation
• Work with experts to support patent litigation cases
• Conduct and defend depositions in patent litigation matters
• Draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents
• Collaborate with team members to develop and execute litigation strategies
• Engage with clients to provide professional and timely legal counsel

Requirements:

• 3+ years of patent litigation experience
• Experience in district court and/or before the International Trade Commission (ITC)
• A technology background in electrical engineering, computer science, or a related field preferred
• Admission to the California State Bar or eligible for admission
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Professionalism and ability to engage effectively with clients

Education:

• JD or LLM from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

• Admitted to or eligible for admission in California

Skills:

• Patent litigation experience in district court and/or ITC
• Strong technical analysis and understanding of patent law
• Excellent legal research, writing, and communication skills
• Ability to manage complex litigation matters and interact with clients
• Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
• Collaborative mindset with the ability to work in team settings
