Duties

  • Perform legal research and draft memoranda on commercial litigation issues
  • Prepare pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and responses
  • Assist in taking and defending depositions of fact witnesses and experts
  • Manage case files, track deadlines, and maintain docketing systems
  • Support preparation for mediations, arbitrations, and bench/jury trials
  • Analyze contracts, corporate records, and transactional documents for dispute foundations
  • Coordinate with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and expert witnesses
  • Contribute to trial exhibits, hearing presentations, and settlement negotiations
  • Mentor paralegals and junior staff on procedural tasks and document management

Requirements

  • 2 years of experience in commercial litigation at a law firm or equivalent setting
  • Active admission to the Nebraska Bar
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple matters under tight timelines
  • Strong analytical, drafting, and oral advocacy skills
  • Proven aptitude for teamwork and independent case management
  • High professional and ethical standards

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school
  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Political Science, or related field preferred

Certifications

  • Admission to the Nebraska Bar
