A law firm seeks a proactive and highly skilled Senior Litigation Attorney in Chicago, Illinois. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in litigation and trial proceedings, with a focus on representing a large international logistics services provider. This role offers the opportunity to work on challenging cases and provide sound counsel to clients.

Duties

• Manage a litigation caseload from inception to resolution.
• Participate actively in trials, including preparation and courtroom appearances.
• Conduct comprehensive legal research.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
• Attend court hearings, depositions, and mediations.
• Negotiate settlements and agreements on behalf of clients.
• Collaborate with colleagues across departments and offices.
• Draft case analysis reports for client stakeholders.

Requirements

• Admitted to practice in the state of Illinois.
• 15+ years of general casualty litigation experience.
• First and/or second chair experience strongly desired.
• Trial experience required.
• Insurance defense experience is required.
• Experience in general liability, premises liability, products liability, construction, and transportation.
• Experience with emerging e-commerce/gig economy legal issues preferred.
• Deposition and motion practice experience required.
• Superior analytical skills.

Education

• JD from an ABA accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admitted to practice law in Illinois.

• Proficient in legal research and drafting.
