Job Overview:
A growing law firm is seeking a Managing Attorney with strong leadership skills and legal expertise to oversee its Pittsford, NY office. This position is ideal for a senior-level attorney with at least 8 years of legal experience and a background in family and matrimonial law. The Managing Attorney will supervise the regional legal team, ensure performance goals are met, assist in recruitment and training, and play a key role in strategic planning. The role reports directly to executive leadership and involves both management and billable responsibilities.

Duties:
Oversee and support a team of regional attorneys to ensure performance metrics (KPIs) are met
Conduct regular quality assurance reviews of attorney caseloads
Participate in daily legal department meetings and strategic planning discussions
Prepare and present quarterly performance reports for regional attorney reviews
Conduct quarterly and annual attorney performance evaluations in coordination with senior leadership
Assign new cases to attorneys based on workload and KPI alignment
Assist in attorney recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and training
Collaborate with leadership on regional team development and workflow improvements
Participate in billing and account management meetings
Maintain a minimum of 26 billed/collected hours per week
Requirements:
Minimum of 8 years of legal practice experience
Prior leadership, management, or supervisory experience in a law firm setting
Experience in family and matrimonial law preferred
U.S. work authorization required
Availability for full-time, on-site role
Education:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited U.S. law school
Certifications:
Active license to practice law in the State of New York
Successful completion of the Bar Exam
