RESPONSIBILITIES: Oversee day-to-day program operations for Consumer Protection Project (CPP) and Tenant Volunteer Lawyer of the Day Program (TVLD); Supervise CAP staff (2 full time attorneys, 1 part-time attorney, and 2 paralegals); Manage recruitment of new volunteer attorneys to staff CAP clinics and to represent tenants in rent escrow hearings through CAP’s reduced-fee (low bono) rent escrow case placement program; Mentor volunteer lawyers; Maintain existing pro bono panel and provide mentorship, guidance, and support to CAP volunteer attorneys; Prepare quarterly grant reports on program activities and ensure staff are meeting program goals; Supervise consumer and housing cases placed with volunteer and staff attorneys; Develop training and reference materials for volunteer attorneys in housing and consumer debt cases; and Collaborate with legal service partners, law schools, community organizations, the judiciary, and other stakeholders.
