Senior Corporate Counsel
The candidate will be negotiating contracts with product suppliers and service providers ranging from professional to construction and maintenance services. Providing advice and guidance on a wide variety of commercial and corporate matters for the Company. Keeping the Company’s senior management abreast of significant decisions, legislation and regulatory developments that may affect the Company’s business or policies. Working with and managing outside counsel, as needed. Developing a thorough understanding of, and familiarity with the Company's business, its people, markets, facilities, customers and competitors, to identify trends and formulate structures and strategies accordingly. Performing special assignments or projects as assigned by the General Counsel. Law degree with high academic achievement from a national law school. Should have 8 years of commercial contracts experience, preferably with a major law firm and/or corporate law department. Experience negotiating and documenting a broad range of transactions and contractual relationships, preferably those involving telecommunications services, construction services, supply chain issues, access to and use of property, and technology development and transfer. Experience as an attorney in entrepreneurial and high-growth entities is highly desirable. Unquestioned integrity and ethics in business and personal conduct. A solid understanding of business and commerce, and the ability to diagnose and distinguish between legal and business problems, and to formulate and present positive, creative, actionable solutions and alternatives for management. Superlative written and oral communication skills, including the ability to read, think, speak and write with precision, clarity and nuance. The ability to think like a business executive and facilitate management objectives, yet the willingness and ability to be a “hands-on” lawyer. Demonstrated skill in translating complex legal concepts into clear business terms and otherwise “demystifying” them. The legal capabilities, organizational skills and work ethic to handle and manage a substantial workload including multiple, concurrent projects, frequently involving similar priorities and quick turnaround times, largely autonomously and with limited supervision. A mature and professional individual with a strong desire to collaborate with other attorneys in the department along with our clients in the rest of the Company.
