Duties

• Represent employers in state and federal court litigation and administrative proceedings.
• Draft and argue motions, manage discovery, and participate in mediations and settlement negotiations.
• Advise on day-to-day HR issues, policy development, handbooks, and compliance programs.
• Conduct workplace investigations and provide risk assessments and recommendations.
• Prepare and negotiate employment, separation, and confidentiality agreements.
• Monitor legal developments and brief clients on evolving labor and employment regulations.
• Mentor junior attorneys and staff on best practices and procedural requirements.

Requirements

• 14 years of employment law experience in a law firm environment.
• Proven track record in both counseling and litigation (single-plaintiff and/or class/collective actions).
• Strong drafting, research, and oral advocacy skills.
• Ability to manage multiple matters with tight deadlines and high client expectations.
• Portable business is advantageous but not essential.

Education

• J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school.

Certifications

• Active admission to the California Bar (or immediate eligibility).
• Additional state admissions welcome but not required.

• Comprehensive knowledge of federal and California employment statutes and regulations.
• Litigation management: pleadings, discovery, motion practice, and trial prep.
• Strategic counseling on compliance, investigations, and policy implementation.
